The 15th Annual Sports Banquet and Golf Outing netted more than $70,000 for athletic scholarships in June. The event had the largest turnout in history, and one couple committed to give $50,000 to establish a new endowed scholarship for athletes.
Speakers at the banquet included Steve Lavin, ESPN and ABC basketball analyst (left, bottom photo); Sharm Scheuerman, legendary University of Iowa basketball player and coach (third from the left); and Nate Fleming 鈥06, a 2005-06 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American, two-time NAIA All-American and school record-holder in the javelin.草莓视频 Trustees Tom Nelson and Roy Goble also participated.

More than three dozen golfers took part in the all-day marathon at La Purisma Golf Course. Ron Newton and Jon Walker 鈥91 co-chaired the event. Committee members included: Jeff Azain 鈥86, David McCurry, Tom Nelson, Brent Johnson 鈥93, Mike Sheffey 鈥93, John Nygren 鈥94, Shannon McCabe Jones 鈥93, Adrian Phillips 鈥03 and Dave Flaherty 鈥04.
